Who We Are...
Defiance Community Players was born in 1972 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, (formerly known as the town of Defiance). The original members were happy to perform wherever there was space; local schools, restaurants, or even in the park. Their passion was for theater, and that is what they created.
Decades later, our goal remains the same: to provide a great live theater experience for everyone involved. We are a true community theater group. Professional artists work side by side with community members of varying experience, and many families have grown together and grown up with us.
Performing Arts Education has always been a priority for us, and we are proud to offer the Ivy Adler Memorial Scholarship to graduating high school seniors who plan to study the performing arts in college.
In the spirit of community, we are a group of volunteers who love the performing arts. We invite everyone to join us in all aspects of theater: actors, singers, dancers, musicians, costumers, technicians, directors, choreographers, set designers, graphic artists, painters, carpenters, electricians, producers, bookkeepers, organizers, fundraisers, and YOU!
